Certificate I in Resources and Infrastructure |
The Certificate I in Resources and Infrastructure Operations reflects the role of entry level employees in operations within the Resources and Infrastructure industry sectors, who perform a defined range of activities, most of which may be routine and predictable. They would work as part of a team and demonstrate broad-based induction skills and/or specific workplace skills.
The course is designed to allow Indigenous participant’s access to employment and training opportunities relevant to the Resource and Infrastructure Industry. Where there is an established industry but no Indigenous labour force the course will provide graduates with the underpinning eight employability skills of communication, team work, problem solving, initiative and enterprise, planning and organising, self management, learning and technology together with the key competencies determined by Industry.
The course will enable graduates to work towards becoming Indigenous micro enterprises in their own right. Graduates will be able to choose a pathway to self employment or working for others in the Resource and Infrastructure Industry.
To achieve a Certificate I in Resource and Infrastructure a total of 6 units of competency must be completed. This comprises 4 core units of competency plus 2 elective units of competency as detailed in the packaging rules and listed in the following section.
